The tickets for WordCamp Ogijima will be sold online from noon 20th May, Japan time. This blog will introduce the ticket variation of WordCamp Ogijima 2018 and how to purchase them.

Chart below shows the variety of tickets, depending on how you chose to spend the day and night at WordCamp Ogijima 2018.
Tickets for WordCamp Ogijima conference (Ticket will be sold on this site)
There are three types of tickets for WordCamp Ogijima conference, and two types for kids. This ticket is essential if you plan on participating the event. Please purchase one ticket per person. We need everyone to buy tickets concerning venue capacity, and insurance.
The ticket for conference will be sold on this WordCamp Ogijima website.
Variety of tickets for WordCamp Ogijima conference
A. General Admission 2000 yen
General admission for the sessions and workshops. Chartered ferry to come to the island, lunch, snacks, and beverages will be covered.
B. Student 1500 yen
Discount ticket for students. If you want to purchase WordCamp Ogijima’s original kids/ student T-shirt, please check the questionnaire when buying ticket. T-shirts are available for 1000 yen on-site.
C. General Admission with a T-shirt 5000 yen
Ticket including WordCamp Ogijima’s original T-shirt, along with general admission contents. 20th June is the deadline.
D. Kids (with child care) No charge
- Ticket for children from 1 year old to the sixth grade who wish to be attended by childcare professionals. Please purchase the no. of tickets according to the no. of kids you wish to leave for child care. We will ask general information (name, mobile no. etc) on the questionnaire when buying ticket.
- If you wish to purchase WordCamp Ogijima’s original kids T-shirt, please check the questionnaire when buying ticket. T-shirts are available for 1000 yen on-site (T-shirt deadline is 20th June).
- Free lunch for kids is optional.
E. Kids (without child care) No charge
- Ticket for children up to junior high school. Please purchase this ticket if you plan on participating with a child (with no child care). All kids are welcome to use kids space, but those under sixth grade with no child care registration will need to be accompanied by a guardian .
- Free lunch for kids is optional.
WordCamp Ogijima after-party
There are three types of tickets for WordCamp Ogijima after-party. These three tickets will be sold at an external site, Peatix.

F. WordCamp Ogijima 2018 BBQ after-party & camping 5500 yen
Ticket for those who will stay for camping beside Ogijima lighthouse after BBQ. Please be aware this ticket is for those who purchased WordCamp Ogijima’s conference ticket. After the conference, we will walk 30 minutes to the camping site, have a fun BBQ night and sleep in a tent.
Accommodation in the tent will be separate for men and women. WordCamp Ogijima committee will decide who sleeps where, however, if you need special assistance, please let us know through questionnaire. If you are also attending with your family, friend etc. and wish to sleep in the same tent, please also mention it in questionnaire.
G. WordCamp Ogijima 2018 BBQ after-party (no lodging) 1500 yen
Ticket for those who will attend the BBQ after-party, after WordCamp Ogijima 2018 conference. This ticket does not include night camping. Please be aware this ticket is for those who purchased WordCamp Ogijima’s conference ticket.
After the confenrece, we will walk 30 minutes to the camping site, have a fun BBQ dinner, and walk back to Ogi port around sunset.
You can either stay at one of the inn’s on Ogijima, or go back to Takamatsu city by boat taxi, which will be chartered by the committee. If you wish to stay at inn on Ogijima, please contact the committee, due to limited no. of rooms.

H. WordCamp Ogijima 2018 Takamatsu city after-party 2000 yen
Ticket for after-party held at Takamatsu City. After WordCamp Ogijima 2018 is finished, we will return to Takamtsu by taking 17:00 departure regular ferry, and attend the party in the city. It is for those who are planning to stay at a hotel in Takamatsu, or those who are not comfortable with outdoor camping.
Everyone is welcome to participate, including those who does not have the ticket for WordCamp Ogijima’s conference. If you could not attend the conference, but want to talk with everyone, you are welcome to participate.
How to purchase
All ticket prices are Japanese yen based, and include tax.
Original T-shirt (student, kids T-shirt/ ticket with T-shirt) application deadline is 20th June, 2018.

All payments on this website will be credit card transaction using PayPal.
If you don’t have a PayPal account
If you don’t have a PayPal account, please input required information and click [ make a payment -> ] . After the screen switches to PayPal login screen, click [ pay by card ] and enter credit card information, and PayPal registration information. When PayPal registration is completed, you can proceed to payment.
If credit card or PayPal usage is difficult
Unfortunately, WordCamp’s ticket system only accepts credit card transaction payment using PayPal. Please consider substitute with Prepaid Visa.
How to register using prepaid card for Paypal usage
- Purchase『VISA V-preca gift』at convenience stores
- Access Ｖ-preca gift
- Click 「V-preca gift」at top right of the page
- Scrape scratch-off and check 「certification no.」and 「card no.」at back of the card
- Agree to terms of service for V-preca gift, and enter 【certification no.】and【last 4 digits of card no.】
- Take note of card no,, expire date, security code displayed on confirmation screen
- After registration is complete, access to PayPal
- Click 「new registration」at top right of the page
- Enter required information
- Enter『card no.』『expire date』『security code』
After this process, please access to WordCamp Ogijima 2018 website and purchase ticket. Please enter the no. when registering card.
If payment does not work, if it fails
There is a possibility that the payment does not succeed by insufficient funds, or an error in credit card information input etc. Please check again your PayPal account, and credit card information.
There is also some cases where payment does not succeed due to internet connection status, and system error. Please try again after waiting for a while.
※There is a slight time lag around few mins to tens of mins after registration, for the name to appear on participant list.
※If you are unsure if the ticket application is complete, or if you do not receive an e-mail on application completion, please contact the committee.
※When contacting us, please let us know your application name and e-mail address.
Cancellation and refund
Paid ticket
Cancellation is available by clicking on link “request refund” in an receipt e-mail titled「WordCamp Ogijima 2018 ticket」.
Please refrain cancellation after 19th June if you are purchasing ‘General addmission with a T-shirt’ ticket, due to order placement. We can send you T-shirt only if desired. If the ticket you purchased does not include T-shirt, cancellation is available until 7th July.
Free ticket (includes coupon usage)
Free kids ticket cannot be canceled on your side. If you would like to cancel your ticket, please let the committee know so we can cancel your ticket and give it to others.
Parents with kids
Please remember to purchase your kid’s tickets.
kids (with child care) ／kids (without child care)
- There are some dangerous places within the island. Please watch your children.
- Kids space is welcome to all kids. If your kid is under sixth grade and does not have child care included ticket, please make sure they are accompanied by their parents.
Registration information
Gravatar, that is linked with your e-mail address when applying for registration will be shown at participant list.
When applying for the ticket, the name does not need to be your can be your real name, but can be nickname.
You can change your participant information from ticket URL on e-mail.
Reception on 15th July
To attend WordCamp Ogijima 2018, advance registration (application) is required.
If you complete application, e-mail will be sent. Please prepare the page of the link written on the e-mail.
We will let you know the reception place, and method soon. Please wait for more information after ticket purchase.
Ticket is needed, even if you come directly to venue
If the ticket is already sold out, you cannot enter the venue on the day without a ticket.
If the ticket is not sold out, you may purchase the ticket at the venue and participate to WordCamp. Please check the no. of remaining tickets beforehand with the committee, and visit the reception. Since staffs cannot support you with your ticket purchase, please cooperate in purchasing the ticket beforehand.
