Is it your first time participating in an online event? Even if so, we have put together FAQs to help you enjoy WordCamp Ogijima\ud83d\udca1.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If you are wondering &#8220;how do I prepare for an online event?&#8221; or are wondering things like &#8220;what are Zoom, Slack and Remo?&#8217;, this should help you out.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group mokuji has-subtle-background-background-color has-background\"><div class=\"wp-block-group__inner-container is-layout-flow wp-block-group-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u76ee\u6b21<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><a href=\"#before-event\">Before event<\/a><ul><li><a href=\"#\uff42efore-event-2\">I haven&#8217;t received confirmation email<\/a><\/li><li><a href=\"#\uff42efore-event-3\">I received an email confirming registration. Is there anything I should prepare before the event?<\/a><\/li><li><a href=\"#\uff42efore-event-4\">How do I use YouTube or Zoom?<\/a><\/li><li><a href=\"#\uff42efore-event-5\">Will the presentations be subtitled? Also, my voice doesn&#8217;t seem to reach the other person in Zoom.<\/a><\/li><li><a href=\"#during-event-3\">What is UD Talk?<\/a><\/li><\/ul><\/li><li><a href=\"#after-event\">Afterparty<\/a><ul><li><a href=\"#after-event-1\">I&#8217;d love to attend a get-together, but what if I don&#8217;t know anyone and it&#8217;s online and I feel like I&#8217;m away&#8230;<\/a><\/li><\/ul><\/li><\/ol>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"\uff42efore-event\">\ud83d\udcadFAQ &#8216;Before event&#8217;<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"\uff42efore-event-1\">I registered, but I haven&#8217;t received  confirmation email.<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">After submitting your application through the <a href=\"https:\/\/2020.ogijima.wordcamp.org\/tickets\/\">official website<\/a>, we will send an email to the email address you provided to confirm that your application has been accepted. If you didn&#8217;t receive an email, it may have been sent to your spam mailbox. Please try searching your mailbox with the search term  <strong>&#8220;WordCamp Ogijima 2020&#8221;<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If you can&#8217;t find the email in your inbox, please contact us via the <a rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/2020.ogijima.wordcamp.org\/contact\/\" target=\"_blank\">contact form<\/a> or via WordCamp Ogijima&#8217;s official <a rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/WCOgijimac\" target=\"_blank\">Twitter<\/a> \/ <a rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/WCOgijima\" target=\"_blank\">Facebook<\/a>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"\uff42efore-event-3\">I received an email confirming registration. Is there anything I should prepare before the event?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Events at WordCamp Ogijima 2020 can be attended in two different ways, depending on the type of session. Some with YouTube Live and others with Zoom, an online conference tool. Pre-installation (free) is required for Zoom. You can install it from the <a href=\"https:\/\/zoom.us\/\">Zoom website<\/a>. YouTube Live does not require any preparation<strong>\u203b1<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Check out the <a href=\"https:\/\/2020.ogijima.wordcamp.org\/schedule\/\">timetable page<\/a> to see whether the content you wish to participate in is streamed via YouTube Live or Zoom<strong>\u203b2<\/strong>.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>\u203b1 The URL for YouTube Live will be emailed to the email address you received your WordCamp Ogijima 2020 ticket, by the day before the event. On event day, please access the URL through your browser or mobile app.<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>\u203b2 For sessions that use Zoom, tickets for each one must be applied for separately <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/wordcamp-ogijima.connpass.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">in connpass on the WordCamp Ogijima event page<\/a>. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"\uff42efore-event-4\">How do I use YouTube or Zoom?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If you want to learn how to use YouTube or Zoom, check out our blog post,&nbsp;&#8220;<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/2020.ogijima.wordcamp.org\/2020\/09\/01\/online-tools-well-be-using-at-wordcamp-ogijima\/\" target=\"_blank\">Online tools we&#8217;ll be using at WordCamp Ogijima<\/a>&#8220;.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"\uff42efore-event-5\">Will the presentations be subtitled? Will the Japanese sessions be automatically translated into English?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Yes. The speakers&#8217; presentations will also be delivered via a tool, UD Talk  (downloadable), which supports subtitling and translation. UD Talk will display subtitles for the speakers&#8217; presentations and automatically translate sessions presented in Japanese into English, and vice versa. Note that for interactive sessions, translation is only available from the speakers, and is not two-way.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>To use UD Talk, you need the iOS or Android app (free). Alternatively,  we\u2019ll send you a YouTube Live link by email, and you can access from there too.&nbsp;This email will be sent to you to the email address you registered for WordCamp Ogijima 2020.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For \u201cTry(Workshop)\u201d, and \u201cDiscuss(Meeting)\u201d, URLs&nbsp;will be sent via email from <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/wordcamp-ogijima.connpass.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">WordCamp Ogijima&#8217;s connpass<\/a>. Newcomers welcome<\/a><\/li><\/ul><\/li><li>2:00 pm (JST)<ul><li><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/2020.ogijima.wordcamp.org\/session\/local-wordpress\/\" target=\"_blank\">Create your own WordPress local environment on your own PC!<\/a><\/li><\/ul><\/li><li>2:00 pm (JST)<ul><li><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/2020.ogijima.wordcamp.org\/session\/pm-workshop-1\/\" target=\"_blank\">Create a page on WordPress.com while thinking about Ogijima. Newcomers are also welcome!<\/a><\/li><\/ul><\/li><li>3:00 pm (JST)<ul><li><a href=\"https:\/\/2020.ogijima.wordcamp.org\/session\/workshop-2\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Experience the future of remote work<\/a><\/li><\/ul><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"\uff42efore-event-8\">I only want to participate in content that interests me, is this possible?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Of course you can! The schedule can be found in the <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/2020.ogijima.wordcamp.org\/schedule\/\" target=\"_blank\">timetable<\/a>. Please check the time of the content you wish to watch and access via YouTube Live at that time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A separate registration is required for workshops, meetings and some sessions. (<s>If applications exceeds the limit, raffle will be held on September 1st.<\/s> Some are already full and&nbsp;meetings\/workshops with remaining seats are on a first-come, first-served basis. This will need reservation.)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"during-event\">\ud83d\udde3FAQ &#8216;At event&#8217;<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"during-event-1\">I can&#8217;t hear YouTube Live.<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Is your YouTube audio set to &#8220;mute&#8221;? If so, unlock the icon <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/lh3.googleusercontent.com\/bhT22HevwsZoDyoUADFP6JbTRSlQcbNc6w2O0Q8V-I7W6vpWTX-OrxG4SrgfIsjWy0o9pwam-Ni_BVwM4ncXCkFwL1UpC_pGwp_ItmpTWw5SHS-9ap0Qdksdb-gxlE0nZieSpF-4\" width=\"25\" height=\"20\"> on the lower left side of the screen. If there is no problem on YouTube, please check your computer&#8217;s preferences to make sure that audio is being output.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"during-event-2\">I was able to hear the audio on YouTube Live, but not on Zoom. Also, my voice doesn&#8217;t seem to reach the other person in Zoom. <\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It may be due to the settings on the Zoom or the volume settings on your computer (<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/2020.ogijima.wordcamp.org\/2020\/09\/01\/online-tools-well-be-using-at-wordcamp-ogijima\/\" target=\"_blank\">see how to use Zoom here<\/a>).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Is the audio setting in Zoom muted? You need to turn on &#8220;Join audio&#8221; to make your audio audible to others in Zoom, is it turned on? For more information on how to set up, please refer to <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/support.zoom.us\/hc\/en-us\/articles\/206175806#h_12512067-340a-4ca9-8d5b-f52a7ed016fb\" target=\"_blank\">Zoom Help Center<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If your Zoom settings are correct, check your computer&#8217;s preferences to make sure you have audio output.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"during-event-3\">What is UD Talk?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">UD Talk is a tool that supports subtitling and translation of speakers&#8217; speeches.
